Out and About: An Ice Skating Extravaganza!

Apologies for our absence. This blog has been awful quiet lately, but rest assured we are still alive! After hearing that the temporary ice skating rink was closing down, we decided we should probably go and show off our incredible figure skating skills.

Since we had both only been ice skating once in our whole lives, and some years ago, it didn't take us long to realise that actually, we don't possess incredible figure skating skills. Like, at all.

The rails were our best friend and we didn't dare venture far from them, but after doing a loop of the rink the first time we were surprised to find we were getting more comfortable, and so did a few more circuits, going around and around, trying to dodge small children and face-planting people.

Numerous photos were taken however we quickly discovered that it's not easy to take a non-blurry picture of a moving person, while wobbling yourself.

Afterwards, we went to get a late night dessert at Strawberry Fare (it used to be a funeral parlour, don't ya know)

And then once we were full we went for a random cruise and took some snaps of Wellington City by night!

By then it was close to 1am and our warm beds were calling so we called it a night and went home. There's not much that's more fun than laughter, good food, good conversation all in the middle of the night!

Much love to you,
Lola and Lola
